Driving Directions

For campus visit directions, the Office of Admission recommends searching for “Chestnut Hall” in your GPS app.  You can also use the following directions to navigate to your upcoming visit. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Approaching from the North on I-26/US 19/US 23

  • Take Exit 25 (UNC Asheville/NC 251).
  • Turn left at the traffic light at the bottom of the ramp.
  • Proceed approximately 0.25 miles to the first traffic light; turn left onto Campus Drive.
  • For campus visits:
    • Follow Campus Drive to the top of the stop sign at the top of the hill.
    • Turn right at the stop sign, go down the hill to the next stop sign.  The silver bulldog statue will be on your right.
    • Turn right at that stop sign onto University Heights Drive.
    • Follow University Heights approximately .5 miles (past Justice Gymnasium, Governors Hall, Highsmith Student Union, and Brown Hall) to Chestnut Hall.
    • Parking is located in front of the bronze bulldog statue.  Overflow parking is available down the sidewalk from Chestnut Hall in the marked Admission spaces.
  • For Summer Welcome Days: 
    • Follow Campus Drive to the stop sign at the top of the hill.
    • Turn right at the stop sign, then go down the hill to the next stop sign. The silver bulldog statue will be on your right.
    • Turn left at that stop sign onto University Heights Drive.
    • Follow University Heights approximately .5 miles (past Owen Hall).
    • Turn right into the parking lot P27 and park in any available spot. If lot P27 is full, please park in lot P28. Blue UNC Asheville flags will mark these lots.

 

Approaching from the East on I-40

  • Take exit 53B onto I-240 W.
  • Follow I-240 W for approximately 4.5 miles.
  • Take Exit 4A onto I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W (UNC Asheville/Weaverville).
  • Follow I-26 W for approximately 1.5 miles.
  • Take Exit 25 (UNC Asheville/NC-251).
  • Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Broadway.
  • Proceed approximately 0.25 miles to the first traffic light; turn left onto Campus Drive.
  • For campus visits:
    • Follow Campus Drive to the top of the stop sign at the top of the hill.

Approaching from the West on I-40

  • Take Exit 46B (left) onto I-240 E/I-26 W (Asheville).
  • Follow I-240 E/I-26 W for approximately 3 miles.
  • Take Exit 3B and as you cross the bridge over the river, move into the left-hand lane.
  • Take Exit 4A (left) onto I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W (UNC Asheville/Weaverville).
  • Follow I-26 W for approximately 1.5 miles.
