“Lost Ground: America’s Landslide Crisis” Film Screening

October 14 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

UNC Asheville will be screening the recent documentary “Lost Ground: America’s Landslide Crisis” in Mullen & James Humanities Hall. The screening is to be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by the director, WCNC’s investigative reporter Nate Morabito.

The panelists include:

  • Paige Ambord and Caitlin Meagher, faculty in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and who are featured in the film for their work on landslide survivors post-Helene
  • Jackie Langille, an expert on landslide geography in the Department of Environmental Science.

This important film exposes the extent of landslide damage during Helene, and raises awareness of landslide risks, two years after that devastating event.
