Hello! My name is Katie. I grew up in Atlanta, GA, and moved up to NC around 2009. I graduated from the College of Charleston in 2008 with my Bachelors in Mass Communication. While there, I also minored in Studio Art focusing on work with Sharpies and charcoal! I started leading wilderness expeditions for the North Carolina Outward Bound School in 2010 and worked for them in several different capacities until about 2021… though I still help out when they call! I went back to school in 2017 to earn my Masters in Higher Education Leadership from App State and started working here at UNCA as an Academic Advisor in 2018.
When not working, I love to be outside as much as possible hiking all the mountains around town, boating on any body of water, or just sitting in the sunshine reading. I also love a good movie at the Grailhouse, cooking dinner for my family and friends, and attempting house renovations.
