Elizabeth Harvey holds a juris doctor from Columbia Law School, where she served on the Columbia Law Review. Before teaching at UNCA, Harvey practiced primarily corporate law at major law firms in the US and in the Netherlands. She also held a federal clerkship. During law school and while practicing corporate law, Harvey served as guardian ad litem in child abuse and neglect cases. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in business-economics and a BA in economics and political science from Miami University of Ohio, where she earned various honors and awards in economics and political science and was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to diverse aspects of business law, Harvey’s scholarly interests include applied ethics and pedagogy. Harvey teaches law and ethics, directs business internships and teaches the business internship course, and engages students in undergraduate research in law.
