Professor Hantz teaches media aesthetics, media law, and photojournalism. He has taken students to Greece and Italy to study photography and humanities. Professor Hantz has served as a political research consultant, and has researched media in politics. His photography has been shown in galleries, and used in marketing campaigns by artists and nonprofit agencies, including TEDx Asheville and the MANNA FoodBank, and published in regional magazines. His scholarship focuses on visual communication and media convergence.
