Year round community housing will be available in the new apartment-style residence halls, The Woods, for the entire academic year (not available to new, first time freshmen), inclusive of breaks and summer. No leaving for breaks, no check outs, no moving out in the summer—it truly will be a place you can call home for your entire year. UNC Asheville’s first apartment-style housing will offer 294 beds, with four, five, and six-bed configurations, with a mixture of single and double rooms. Each apartment will have a full-size kitchen, and each building will have laundry rooms. Students can choose any of the new apartment-style residence halls to live in year-round.
Students are required to be enrolled as a full time student for semesters of their residency (with exception of summer, provided they are enrolled as full time students for the following fall semester).
For the 2018-2019 academic year, year round terms will be available for August-to-August only. Beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year, year-round terms will be May-to-May and August-to-August. Specific check in and checkout dates to be determined. Year-round terms are adjusted for students who are graduating, studying abroad, or have other similar academic needs which would impact ability to remain on campus.
The cost for year-round housing in the apartment double room is $4,571 per semester. Year-round costs for a single room in the apartment is $5,146 per semester. These rates include summer. This will allow you to stay on campus year-round, including Thanksgiving break, Winter break, Spring break, and summer.
