The Annual F*-Word Film Festival (*F for Feminist)
UNC Asheville’s annual F*-Word Film Festival (*F for Feminist) began in 2001, and celebrates feminist films and filmmakers. The festival often includes feature films as well as documentaries, as well as lectures and discussions with the filmmakers.

UNC Asheville Queer Studies Conference
The UNC Asheville Queer Studies Conference (established in 1998) attracts an international audience of activists, academics, community members, and artists who showcase a range of creative and scholarly pursuits related to the study of genders and sexualities. We invite a diverse representation of approaches and participants, including academics (faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students) and community members (leaders, organizers, and activists).
