Tom Hunter, recently appointed to the UNC Asheville Board of Trustees, brings extensive leadership and business expertise to the role. A 1993 Davidson College graduate with a B.S. in Mathematics, Hunter earned his MBA with honors from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in 1999. His career spans finance, mergers and acquisitions, and automotive retail, including roles as Vice President at a MidSouth Financial-Centura Bank joint venture and associate at Brookwood Associates, LLC. Since 2002, he has served as President and CEO of Hunter Corporation, Inc., a family-owned automotive dealership, where he gained hands-on experience in all facets of the business through NADA’s Dealer Academy. A native of North Carolina, Hunter resides with his wife, Susan, and their two children, Thomas and Jenna, and is committed to advancing UNC Asheville’s mission of academic excellence and community impact.
