Howdy! My name is Rachel and I use she/her pronouns. I'm an Environmental Studies major and I'm getting my Earth Science Teacher Licensure so I can get out there and teach some kiddos about our beautiful planet. I'm from the underrated Southern Illinois (you actually CAN throw a stone without hitting a corn stalk), and I started off at school In Memphis where I did things like wander the Tennessee woods searching for Bigfoot, before taking a gap year doing AmeriCorps in Cape Cod, MA, where I got to farm oysters, teach folks about estuaries, work on prescribed burns, and help rescue stranded dolphins and sea turtles. I'm thrilled to have made my way down to Asheville, and I'm excited to be a part of the SEC because it gives me the opportunity to work with so many lovely people to promote positivity and activism for the environment both on our campus and out in the community. Cheers!
