Myrna Acevedo joined the Languages & Literatures Department in the Spring of 2016.  She has a master's degree in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca, Spain. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, spending most of her summers in Spain.  She believes that the role of modern language instruction is to open windows to other cultures in order to create awareness of the many different peoples and visions of life that compose our world. Her aim is to foster students' ability to accept and cherish our diversity. In the classroom, she likes to include activities where there are ample opportunities to get engaged while using the target language as a tool for communication.
