    After graduating from UNC Asheville, Kevin completed his Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Western Carolina University. Kevin states that “my degree in Health and Wellness promotion/Public Health serves as a strong platform for my social work career. I find myself utilizing my HWP experience every single day at work”  

    Kevin is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is in the Doctorate of Social Work program at the University of Tennessee, with an anticipated graduation date of 2024. 

    He was hired in 2016 as the Program Director for the Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC), a non-adversarial, treatment-based diversion program for justice-involved veterans. For veterans facing non-violent, felony charges, instead of sending them to prison they can plead into the VTC and focus on addressing the underlying source(s) of their criminogenic behavior (PTSD, addiction, mental health, etc.) Upon completion of the 2+ year process in the VTC, veterans are eligible to have their charges dismissed.

    In his free time, Kevin volunteers with the NC Special Olympics, serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad Litem, and is a on the Blue Ridge Honor Flight Board. 

    He also finds time to play the drums!  He has been playing drums with Tyler Ramsey (from Band of Horses), having just finished a Tour through Europe and the American southeast.
