His diverse background combines service in the US Navy nuclear power program, extensive operational and teaching experience with networking and system administration, and 10 years of executive experience as Chief Information Officer for an Asheville-based not-for-profit healthcare organization.  His professional career has included regional initiatives with the WNC Health Network; serving as a founding employee and technical advisor for the Education and Research Consortium; and seven years of full-time teaching in cybersecurity, virtualization, and system administration at the post-secondary level. Drake is dedicated to mentoring and developing the professional skills of students while working with local employers to solve practical business challenges throughout his courses.
