Diana Casillas (she/her) joined UNCA’s Pre-College program in January 2021 as the ¡Vamos! Program Coordinator. She graduated from UNC Asheville in Spring 2020, spending a good part of her undergraduate studies working under many departments as a student worker and as a research assistant. Diana received her B.A. in International Studies and French, identifies as a first-generation student, and was an AVID scholar. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and, through classes at UNCA, study abroad in Senegal and an internship opportunity in France sponsored by UNCA’s French department, acquired fluency in French. Diana was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. She is the daughter of immigrants from the states of Colima and Jalisco, Mexico. She has many academic and personal interests across many fields and topics and is always looking to learn more about anything and everything.
