My passion for helping others can be traced back to my pre-professional days. Whether as a Sunday school teacher for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC or the head defensive coach for Watauga High School men’s lacrosse team in Boone, NC, I have been on a path guiding me from the start. The reason? I like helping people and being the reason their goals or current dreams are achieved. At this moment, that is anything and everything UNC Asheville! Go Bulldogs!!

Born in Wilmington, NC, my family were and still are huge hockey fans, thanks in part to my dad being from upstate NY. As a true North Carolinian, I bleed red and black for my 2006 Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes. Every hockey season my family as a whole meets in Raleigh, NC to see the Hurricanes face the Boston Bruins and Pittsburg Penguins (my dad and brother’s favorite teams).

A graduate of Appalachian State University, I received my Bachelors of Science in Communication Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. Following my 2014 graduation, I took my first professional job in the admissions world for Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. There I was tasked with assisting the many athletic coaches and their recruits navigate the admissions process. Two years later my wife and I found ourselves packing the truck and moving to Asheville, NC.

Having been in the UNC Asheville Admission office since November of 2016, I have had the pleasure of meeting students from all over the United States and beyond. It is my goal to assist any student in any way possible. I want to help make sure all students considering UNC Asheville know how special of a place this is and can hopefully see themselves here in the fall and among the many proud Bulldogs!!
