If you are attending a special event, please refer to the campus map and event information for parking accommodations. Often, for large scale events special parking is often set aside to accommodate campus visitors. You may be required to purchase a parking pass. Standard cost for conference is $5.00 for up to 7 days and $10 for events and camps extending beyond 7 days.
One you have your pass and arrive on campus, follow the signs and (if hired by the conference group) instructions from parking attendants for the closest parking.
For especially large events, such as university commencement ceremonies, close parking areas are reserved for attendees with mobility issues. Please ask any parking attendant on post about special needs parking.
For events happening after 5 p.m. or on weekends, Faculty/Staff and Non-Resident parking spaces are available for public parking.

It is always a good idea to contact us to check on the availability of parking and other resources that may be needed for your event. They can provide information on parking signs, traffic flow, and appropriate parking lots.
Transportation services can assist in scheduling or rental of campus shuttles for special events or summer conferences. The cost is $75 per service hour with a four hour minimum. For more information, visit Shuttle Services or contact us at 828.251.6691.
University Police provides security services for special events upon request. The event must be sponsored by UNC Asheville or held on UNC Asheville property. Requests for security services must be made at least two weeks in advance to ensure scheduling.
Hourly Costs per Uniformed Police Officer by Event Type:
- $35.00/hr: Event run by a UNC Asheville campus department that is specifically designed for the Campus Community or run by a campus organization
- $40.00/hr: Educational events and traffic details run by a non-profit organization, school or government agency
- $45.00/hr: Non-educational events or any event run by a for-profit company (or summer camps)
