The UNC Asheville Office of Emergency Management provides planning, coordination, and management during any disaster that affects the UNC Asheville campus. We strive to support a coordinated and collaborative program to systematically assess campus vulnerabilities and develop solutions which make UNC Asheville more disaster resilient. The Office of Emergency Management collaborates with a broad and diverse group of emergency management partners including the City of Asheville, Buncombe County, the State of North Carolina, federal agencies, and other higher education institutions.
Our office works with a network of offices across campus to issue timely communications in the event of a disaster via email, phone, text messages, and online updates on the university’s website via BulldogAlert. Our campus community and members of the public should always refer to the BulldogAlert website for the most up-to-date information regarding the university’s status. Individuals can also report crimes or suspicious behavior using our emergency phone system or the RockyShield app.
In addition to managing emergency situations, we also prioritize the prevention of emergencies or disasters. Individuals can report crimes or suspicious behavior using our emergency phone system on campus, the RockyShield app, or by contacting University Police 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 828.250.6710.
