UNC Asheville Welcomes New Board of Trustees Members

June 1, 2023

The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees will welcome four new members appointed by the UNC Board of Governors at its next meeting. They include David Luck, former CEO, president and director of ABC Supply Company; Catherine Bell Mitchell, attorney and partner at Fox Rothschild, LLP; Michael Meguiar, executive vice president at Pursuit Aerospace; and Kelly Davis, vice president of mortgage lending at Park National Bank. Current trustee Roger Aiken, a financial advisor at Wells Fargo, was reappointed.

As is the case across the UNC System, the UNC Asheville Board of Trustees is composed of 13 members. Eight trustees are appointed by the UNC Board of Governors, and four appointed by the North Carolina legislature Speaker and President Pro Tempore.

The President of the Student Government Association, who is elected annually by the student body, also serves as a trustee. SGA President-elect Alondra Barrera Hernandez will represent students this coming academic year.

“UNC Asheville has been fortunate to consistently attract talented leaders across a variety of fields and sectors to devote their time and talent to the success of our University,” said Interim Chancellor Kimberly van Noort, “and this new class of trustees is a case in point.”
