November 30, 2021

UNC Asheville’s Department of Management and Accountancy is producing a new podcast series, “Conversations for the Curious Mind.” Episodes feature UNC Asheville faculty across academic disciplines, as well as professionals and industry leaders, engaging in critical conversations.

The initial three episodes include conversations on the gender gap in leadership, the financial mechanisms being used to fund the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in lower income countries, and strategies for navigating the current political and ideological landscape that is characterized by increasing polarization and hostility. Future episodes, including the next upcoming episode on retirement, will be released monthly.

Featured guests include Deena Burris, associate professor of management at UNC Asheville; Ellen Carr, co-author of Undiversified: The Big Gender Short in Investment Management; Marcia Ghidina, chair and professor of sociology at UNC Asheville; Susan Clark Muntean, associate professor of management at UNC Asheville, and co-author of the recently published book, Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: A Gender Perspective; and Rob Shrode, assistant professor of political science at UNC Asheville.

The podcast is produced and edited by UNC Asheville new media student Nathan Morales, and features music by Brian Felix, chair and associate professor of music at UNC Asheville, and Alex Harvey, UNC Asheville computer science, music and neuroscience student. UNC Asheville new media student Leslie Reynalte designed the cover art.

The podcast is available on the Department of Management and Accountancy website and on Spotify.
