Prescribed Burn Scheduled at UNC Asheville Dec. 15 in Partnership with Asheville Fire Department

The Asheville Fire Department will lead a training burn at UNC Asheville on Dec. 15, 2021, weather-permitting, with Dec. 17 scheduled as an alternate date. This prescribed burn will occur between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the meadow adjacent to Mullen Park on campus and near the Glenn’s Creek Greenway.

If you have a smoke sensitivity, please make plans to avoid the area during this time.

The project will offer ecological benefits and academic opportunities while providing a training opportunity for the Asheville Fire Department.
