UNC Asheville Student Jazz and Contemporary Music Ensembles at The Mothlight

UNC Asheville’s student jazz and contemporary music ensembles will perform the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 8 at The Mothlight, 70 Haywood Rd., West Asheville. Performances begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $6; $4 for students.

The ensembles are:

• Contemporary Guitar Ensemble: Tim Doyle, director
• Brazilian Ensemble: Zach Page, director
• Astor Piazzolla Ensemble: Andy Jurik, director
• X-Tet (small jazz ensemble): Bill Bares, director
• Studio 18 (vocal jazz ensemble): Brent LaCasce, director
• Bluegrass Ensemble: Jonathan King, director
• AfroMusics Ensemble: Jonathan King, director
• Paul Simon Ensemble: Matthew Richmond, director
• Old Time Ensemble (Appalachian stringband)
