The Reading of the Names 2019 – Remembering the Holocaust
May 2, 2019
Event Navigation
UNC Asheville has traditionally observed Holocaust Remembrance Day on the day it is observed in Israel, on Yom HaShoah, with The Reading of the Names – a reading on the Quad of the names of victims of the Holocaust, with students, faculty and staff volunteering. In 2019, Yom HaShoah falls on May 2, and The Reading of the Names will be held then.
The university welcomes students, faculty, staff and community volunteers to join in reading the names and sharing in a remembrance of lives lost and the need to rededicate ourselves to human rights. To sign up to read, please email Brandy Bowman (bbowman1@unca.edu) in the university’s Office of Community Engagement.
