$25Event Navigation
UNC Asheville’s Visual & Performing Arts Program will perform “Tempting Fate, Finding Fortune: Carmina Burana,” at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 in Lipinsky Auditorium.
“Carmina Burana” is a cantata composed in the 1930s by Carl Orff, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection of the same name. The performance will feature the Asheville Choral Society, the Asheville Singers, the UNC Asheville Percussion Ensemble and students in UNC Asheville’s Dance Program, with lighting design by UNC Asheville drama students. The work highlights medieval languages in the poetry written by 12th century student clerics, and centers on love, spring, and a cry to the fates to bring good fortune.
General admission is $25; UNC Asheville student, faculty and staff tickets are $15. Tickets may be purchased at https://ashevillechoralsociety.org/tempting-fate-finding-fortune.
