Southern Appalachian Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

The Department of Philosophy will host a two-day annual symposium, the Southern Appalachian Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, in the Laurel Forum at UNC Asheville. The opening reception is February 16 at 4 p.m. and the program will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on February 17.

Twelve students from around the region as well as UNC Asheville will present papers, the top three of which will be awarded cash prizes. Two guest judges, Helga Varden from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Emily McRae from the University of New Mexico, will attend and present lectures.

Visitor Parking

Visitors may park in faculty/staff and All Permit lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
Prior to 5pm, any visitor (regardless of their reason for visit) need to adhere to the current practices listed on the parking website. Get your visitor parking permit here
