Southern Appalachian Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

Twelve students from schools across the country will present at the Southern Appalachian Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, Feb. 10-11 in the Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. The symposium provides a professional style philosophical forum for aspiring undergraduates to present significant and original work. The papers will be judged by visiting speakers Cynthia Willett of Emory University and Tamara Fakhoury of the University of Minnesota. The top three papers will be awarded cash prizes.

The conference will begin with a welcome reception and opening remarks at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Sessions will continue that evening, and resume with an opening reception at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11. Awards will be presented at the closing reception at 5:20 p.m.

Visitor Parking

Visitors may park in faculty/staff and non-resident All Permit lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
Prior to 5pm, any visitor (regardless of their reason for visit) need to adhere to the current practices listed on the parking website. Get your visitor parking permit here
