This event is free and open to everyone at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24 in Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum, and is sponsored by UNC Asheville’s Key Center for Community-Engaged Learning. It will feature panelists who work with teenagers in both school and community settings, who will share their knowledge and experience of sexual health education.

The panelists will include:

  • Giannina Callejas, Women’s Empowerment Coordinator, YWCA of Asheville
  • Tracey Childers, Prevention Manager, WNC AIDS Project
  • Julia Considine, MPH, Health Education Consultant, author of Supporting N.C. Schools with Implementation of Healthful Living Essential Standards
  • Sapphire De’Bellott, Outreach Worker, Project EMPOWER, Mt. Zion Community Development
  • Amanda Gladys, Health Educator, Buncombe County Schools
  • Roy Philbrick, President, You OUTright Youth Advisory Board
