Historian, archivist and UNC Asheville alum Kaye Lanning Minchew will give a free public talk – Two Presidents with Southern Connections: Franklin D. Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter – at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum.

Minchew, who is now working on a book on Jimmy Carter, is the author of two books, A President in Our Midst: Franklin Delano Roosevelt In Georgia, and Managing Local Government Archives. Now retired, Minchew was executive director of the Troup County [Georgia] Historical Society and Archives for more than thirty years.
