photo+sphere is a project of Asheville’s MAP (Media Arts Project) that explores the environment through photography and photo-media, and UNC Asheville people and facilities are involved in some of the events.

Nov. 1 through Nov. 16 – What We Saw – an exhibit of 1930s photographs from the Resettlement and Farm Security Administrations, curated by Michael Carlebach, in Ramsey Library’s Blowers Gallery. On view during regular library hours.

November 8: Sea Level Rise: Visualizing Climate Change is video presentation by UNC Asheville art faculty members and photographers Carrie and Eric Tomberlin, that will take place at the kickoff party for photo+sphere, 5-7 p.m., off campus at the Asheville Masonic Temple, 80 Broadway St., Asheville. The party is a benefit for photo+sphere; tickets are $25, available here.

November 9: UNC Asheville’s STEAM Studio will host Some Observations on Movements of the Earth, the keynote presentation by Sharon Harper at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 821 Riverside Dr., Asheville. Tickets are $10, available here.
