This panel discussion, Beating the Drums of War? Iran and the USA after Soleimani’s Assassination, features UNC Asheville Professor of History Samer Traboulsi and Elizabeth Overton Colton, retired journalist and U.S. State Department press attaché, and takes place at noon on Thursday, Feb. 6, in Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum, free and open to everyone.

Elizabeth Overton Colton is a veteran diplomat and Emmy-award-winning journalist. She served as foreign service officer in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, and as chief of staff, Bureau of Oceans, Environment, and Science. She has also been a foreign correspondent and producer in major news media.
