Philosophy professor Nathan King will present “Beyond Knowledge and Skills: Education for Intellectual Virtue,” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 in Highsmith Union, Alumni Hall. King will discuss the importance of intellectual virtues, such as curiosity, carefulness, autonomy, humility, and open-mindedness. King’s lecture will explore why these virtues matter, and how students and professors can develop them.
King is a professor of philosophy at Whitworth University, and the author of “The Excellent Mind: Intellectual Virtues for Everyday Life,” released by Oxford University Press in 2021.

Visitor Parking
Visitors may park in faculty/staff and All Permit lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
