Martin Bejerano’s Cuban American Trio

Pianist Martin Bejerano and his Cuban American Trio will perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 in Lipinsky Auditorium, as part of the UNC Asheville Loves Piano Series.
Bejerano, a native of Miami, Florida, has been active as a professional musician since the age of 15. Over the course of his career he has performed at jazz festivals and concerts all over the world. A recording he did with award-winning artist Roy Haynes, “Fountain of Youth,” received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Jazz Album.
Bejerano’s career as a solo artist, band director, and composer has led to his trio being featured on NPR, and his music being recognized internationally. He currently serves as head of the Music Department at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
