The UNC Asheville Center for Jewish Studies is honored to announce that a powerful exhibit about the Holocaust will be visiting the UNC Asheville campus April 9 to April 12. The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and located in Reed Plaza.
Maps to location available here. If you are visiting campus to see the exhibit, please fill out and print a visitor permit to park on campus at this link.
The Hate Ends Now exhibit is a replica of a Holocaust-era cattle car that houses a 20-minute, 360-degree immersive multimedia presentation. The presentation includes testimonies of survivors, a brief history of the Holocaust, persecution of various groups by the Nazis, and ends with a message about hope and engagement.
The exhibit is free to students and members of the community. The exhibit is limited to 25 people at a time and takes about 30 minutes to experience. Reservations are not required. If you want to make a reservation, especially if you have limited time or are visiting in a group, you may make reservations here.
The exhibit is suggested for 8th grade (13 years) and older. For minors, the decision is left to parents to determine the readiness and maturity of the child. The exhibit is wheelchair accessible. A ramp is available upon request.
We can host this exhibit thanks to the Lehrer Impact Fund and the co-sponsorship of the Asheville Jewish Community Center.
