Flor de Toloache Residency

The all-female mariachi fusion band Flor de Toloache, will be in residency at UNC Asheville offering afternoon master classes and an evening concert, all free and open to everyone. This residency is part of UNC Asheville’s Cultural Events Series, which receives support from Biltmore Farms Hotels, Blue Ridge Public Radio and Our State magazine.

Residency Schedule

Tuesday, Sept. 17

  • Master Class – noon-1 p.m., Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

  • Master Class – 2-3 p.m., Highsmith Student Union Mountain Suites.
  • Concert by Flor de Toloache, with local dance troupe RAICES, affiliated with the Buncombe County organization Nuestro Centro, opening the show. 7 p.m. in Lipinsky Auditorium with more details here.

Thursday, Sept. 19

  • Dispatches from the Borderland – This video conference with activists in South Texas takes place from noon-1:15 p.m. in Highsmith Student Union, Alumni Hall, with more details here. (Flor de Toloache will not be in attendance)

Visitor Parking on the UNC Asheville Campus – Visitors may park in faculty/staff and non-resident lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
