Jonathan Garthoff, professor of philosophy at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, will present a lecture, “Decency: An Account of the Virtue of Decency in Ethics and Politics,” at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, in UNC Asheville’s Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum. 

Garthoff’s lecture will offer an account of the virtue of decency in the context of both ethics and politics. His work is primarily in ethical theory and political philosophy, with a special interest in how psychological capacities figure in best understandings of ethics, politics, and law.

Visitor Parking

Visitors may park in faculty/staff and All Permit lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
