Transportation will be provided and seats are very limited. The cost of the trip is $250, which includes transportation, programming, and lunch. The trip is rain or shine. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes and make sure to check the weather.

Departure is at 8 a.m. Meet at the Cable Center for University Advancement & Philanthropy at 118 WT Weaver Blvd.

This is the second event in the Common Word Community Read Series, a collection of lectures and discussions centered around a shared text with the goal of engaging in a collective educational experience. This semester’s selection is “Thirteen Moons” by Charles Frazier. Frazier was born in Asheville and grew up in Western North Carolina, the region and its culture is featured prominently in many of his works.

The program is curated by Wiley Cash, New York Times bestselling author, alumnus of the class of 2000, and UNC Asheville’s Executive Director of Literary Arts.
