Calligraphy, the Image of Persian Beauty – Persian Master Calligrapher Bahman Panahi

Master calligrapher Bahman Panahi will show his works and discuss Persian calligraphy in an event called Calligraphy, the Image of Persian Beauty, at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum. This event is free and open to the public.

After graduating from Tehran University’s faculty of fine arts, Panahi received the Master certificate from the “Institute of Calligraphers of Iran” where he studied under the great master calligraphers Amirkhany, Foradi, and Kaboli. Panahi moved to Paris in 2002 to continue his art studies at the Ecole des Beaux-arts and the Sorbonne.

Panahi also is an acclaimed musician and will give a concert of Iranian classical music at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Highsmith Student Union Grotto. This event is free and open to everyone.
