Autumn Players Readers Theatre – “Awake and Sing”

The Autumn Players of Asheville Community Theatre will present Awake and Sing by Clifford Odets and directed by Arnold Sgan, readers theatre style, at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31 in the Reuter Center, home of OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNC Asheville.

This performance is open to everyone; tickets are $7 online or at the door.

Description from The Autumn Players:

A Jewish family of three generations lives crammed together in a Bronx apartment during the Great Depression. In language both street-tough and poetic, the characters widely disagree about whether to hold onto their ideals or act in their own best interests as each one struggles to survive. Performed as Readers Theatre as a part of The Autumn Players’ Readers Theatre Showcase Series.
