OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNC Asheville, will host a public forum featuring local African American Entrepreneurs, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, in the Reuter Center’s Manheimer Room. This event is free and open to everyone.
OLLI provides this description:
This forum will present an interactive opportunity to network with business owners, hear stories of resiliency and perseverance, learn what various programs and agencies support small businesses, and learn how you can support African American owned businesses.
Speakers:
- Keynon Lake, CEO/Founder of My Daddy Taught Me That
- Joe Greene, Consultant for African American Business Association and the Western Women’s Business Center, Entrepreneur
- Dannie Frey, Associate Director of the Western Women’s Business Center
- Rosanna Mulcahy, Minority Business Program Manager for the City of Asheville
- Other African American small business owners will participate in sharing their stories in a question and answer format.
This forum, sponsored by the Western Women’s Business Center, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s Inclusion Committee, and the African American Business Association, offers an opportunity to get involved with and help to build the entrepreneurial community in the Asheville area. Whether you’re a business owner, thinking of starting a business, or a community supporter, all are welcome to attend.
