Areas of focus in the webinar will be African American women and the Suffrage Movement, discursive politics within Women’s Suffrage Movements, and women’s suffrage in the South. The panelists will be three UNC Asheville faculty members:

  • Sarah Judson, Associate Professor of History and Interim Director of the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program
  • Lyndi Hewitt, Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning
  • Tiece Ruffin, Associate Professor of Education and of Africana Studies, and Director of the Africana Studies Program.
