23-24 Student Employment Grants

Student employment is a high-impact program that prepares students for a rapidly changing global society and success beyond graduation. The Career Center is excited to continue supporting student employee roles across campus through Student Employment Grants.

There were several changes made for the 22-23 SEG application process, and as we learned more throughout that process we determined necessary changes for the 23-24 application process.
  1. SEG applications must be submitted by department, not individual faculty/staff. Each department will submit a single SEG application and indicate who in the department is the point of contact for communications/decisions.
  2. The SEG application itself has been drastically changed to asking for total funding amounts/needs with explanations for how that number was determined rather than submitting for individual positions.
  3. There are new requirements/expectations for departments that receive an SEG award (detailed below).

Regarding Federal Work Study (FWS), all hourly student employee positions on campus will be eligible for FWS as a new software will be able to check FWS status per student automatically.
