Unlock possibilities with the UNCA Internship Program!
The Internship Program is here to connect UNCA students to fantastic internship opportunities that align with their career interests. The registration form is for summer internships spanning May – August 2024. Registration is capped at the first 50 eligible students to complete this form.
The student registration form for Summer 2024 opens January 24, 2024 at 8am EST.
**Employers: If you are interested in participating in this program as an internship site, we would love to have you! Please email Grace Champion, Internship Program Manager, at gchampi1@unca.edu.**
Student Eligibility: To be eligible, you must:
- Have 60 completed college credit hours
- Still be a student at UNCA (meaning not graduated) while working the internship this summer
How it Works: The purpose of this program is to make your search for a meaningful internship hassle and barrier-free. The program will match you with an employer internship opportunity.
Funding: All internships will be funded. If the site’s opportunity is unpaid, the Career Center will pay your wage through our Internship Assistance Fund.
Timeline Overview:
- January 24 at 8am: Student registration opens
- February 5-11: Required workshops take place
- February 18: Internship site selections are due
- February 26-March 15: Interviews with internship sites
- Late March: Distribution of internship offers
- May: Internships commence
- June: First check-in
- July: Second check-in
- August: Intern evaluations and conclusions
Commitment: The internship will span the summer semester and can span anywhere from 15-40 hours a week depending on the opportunity. Participation in a comprehensive preparation workshop is also required this semester in October.
Preparation workshops are currently offered on:
- Thursday February 8 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm
- Friday, February 9 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm
- Saturday, February 10 from 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Sunday, February 11 from 9:00am – 1:00pm
