Due to COVID-19, our daily tours have been canceled until further notice. We are still committed to hosting you on campus in the future and helping you discover why UNC Asheville may be your educational destination. In the meantime, you can explore campus with our virtual tours, or sign up for an online info session with our Admission Counselors. We look forward to seeing you on campus in the future!
General Tour Information
During the Spring and Fall semesters, UNC Asheville provides daily tours for our guests at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every week day. Visits include a pre-tour information session with an admission representative, followed by the tour of campus with a Student Ambassador. We encourage you to arrive early to allow ample time to find parking.
Visitors to campus are encouraged to make reservations for their arrival so the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid can connect guests with the other campus resources that are of interest, like specific academic programs (majors) or the Office of Academic Accessibility. Knowing guests are coming allows us to make arrangements with our colleagues across campus, so we do ask that you give us at least two weeks notice to set up any visits with other departments. Of course, walk-in visitors are welcome, but the visit experience is enhanced by our planning for your arrival. Once you have made reservations for your tour, you can also request a meeting with a professor. Current high school seniors can also request the opportunity to attend a class.
Inclement Weather Policy
Campus tours are advertised to occur rain or shine, hot or cold, and our tour guides are expected to be prepared to give tours in these conditions. However, there are instances when it’s unsafe for our tour groups to go out. The Campus Visit Coordinator may cancel or delay a tour in the event of snow, ice, lightning, thunderstorms, tornado (watch or warning), or hail.
If the university cancels classes due to inclement weather, campus tours will be canceled as well. We will post a message on every page of the UNC Asheville website, in addition to the Admissions Visit page. Please be sure to check the Asheville weather forecast, and dress accordingly.
