Daily Tours

During the Spring and Fall semesters, UNC Asheville provides a truly customized visit experience for our guests between 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. every week day. Visits include a pre-tour information session with an Admissions Counselor, followed by the tour of campus with a Student Ambassador at the top of the hour, and finally a post-tour session with the Admissions Counselor to wrap up and discuss next steps. We encourage you to arrive early to allow ample time to find parking. The final student-led tour departs at 3 p.m. each day.

Visitors to campus are encouraged to make reservations for their arrival so the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid can connect guests with the other campus resources that are of interest, like specific academic programs (majors) or the Office of Academic Accessibility. Knowing guests are coming allows us to accommodate arrangements with our colleagues across campus, so we do ask that you give us at least two weeks notice to set up any visits with other departments. Of course, walk-in visitors are welcome, but the visit experience is enhanced by our planning for your arrival.  Once you have made reservations for your tour, you can also request a meeting with a professor. Current high school seniors can also request the opportunity to attend a class.

Inclement Weather Policy

Campus tours are advertised to occur rain or shine, hot or cold, and our tour guides are expected to be prepared to give tours in these conditions. However, there are instances when it’s unsafe for our tour groups to go out. The Campus Visit Coordinator may cancel or delay a tour in the event of snow, ice, lightning, thunderstorms, tornado (watch or warning), or hail.

If the university cancels classes due to inclement weather, campus tours will be canceled as well. We will post a message on every page of the UNC Asheville website, in addition to the Admissions Visit page. Please be sure to check the Asheville weather forecast, and dress accordingly.
