How to Prepare

Review our Orientation Handbook to find out more about the embark experience.

Online Advising & Registration Course

Students will receive an email to their UNC Asheville email account 3-5 business days after their enrollment deposit is processed with specific instructions regarding theOnline Advising & Registration (OAR) course. Email onestop@unca.edu with OAR Course questions.
As an incoming student, you must complete the OAR course as part of your orientation requirements. Delaying your completion of OAR will ultimately impact the courses you will be registered for in the upcoming semester, so make sure you complete the OAR course as soon as possible.

Freshmen

All freshmen must complete the OAR course to receive their upcoming semester schedule by the time they arrive for embark Orientation. Freshmen course schedules are built only after the OneStop Office has confirmed successful completion of the OAR course. Once the OneStop Office has confirmed your completion of OAR, a OneStop adivsor will build your course schedule based on your academic interests (which you will indicate in the OAR course) and course availability. Courses will fill quickly, so it is in your best interest to complete the OAR course as soon as possible.

Transfer Students

Once you successfully complete the OAR course and the OneStop Office has confirmed this, you will receive an email with next steps regarding the registration process for the upcoming semester.
