Academic Advising strives to provide all students with a positive academic experience. We coordinate tutoring and peer mentoring programs, facilitate the Academic Success Program, and provide academic advising. We also help students, faculty, and staff when they have questions about curricula, academic policies, and registration procedures.
We’re looking forward to getting to know you as you pursue your academic goals! Come visit us in OneStop Student Services any time you have questions about academic requirements or policies, or if you’re looking for ideas and strategies for reaching your academic potential at UNC Asheville.
General Advising for Current Students
These appointments are for currently enrolled (deposited) students. Incoming students are allowed to make and appointment after finishing the Online Advising and Registration course. Students will still need to meet with their assigned advisor to receive their RAN.
The Registrar’s Office handles questions about transfer credit, Veteran services, transcripts, enrollment certifications, graduation, residency, tuition surcharge, and visiting permissions.
Office of Academic Accessibility
The Office of Academic Accessibility is involved with pre-admission guidance, orientation, academic advising, and the provision of academic accommodations. We strive to provide accurate and timely information for students, prospective students and their families, and to collaborate with and support faculty, staff and administration in the university’s endeavor to ensure equal access to opportunity for those with disabilities.
Transferring to UNC Asheville from AB Tech
If you’re an AB Tech student planning to transfer to UNC Asheville, you can make an appointment with the Transfer Counselor. These appointments are held in the Bailey building on AB Tech’s campus.
Students in the Academic Success Program (ASP) who need to complete meetings for ASP should make an appointment here. If you are an ASP student with general questions, please make a general advising appointment.
Did you receive multiple Academic Alerts from faculty members? If so, you are required to meet with OneStop after you complete your Academic Alert form.
Students have many choices when it comes to locations where they can study. Our staff is here to help students decide what programs will be best for them and to assist them in their application process. We require that students begin their study abroad journey with an appointment with the Study Abroad Office.
