Content Types in Drupal CMS

There are three basic content types included in the Drupal CMS:

  • Page
  • Webform
  • Profile

Page

Nearly all of your website's content will be pages.  These are the most basic, fundamental types of content.  Each page has a title, URL, and space for your text, photos, and multimedia.

Webform

Webforms are more complicated than normal pages, as they allow your users to fill out forms which can then be emailed, exported, or otherwise processed by the system.

Profile

Profiles are used to highlight individual faculty, staff, and students.  Each profile has a teaser, bio, and headshot.

In addition, there are two advanced content types:

  • News Aricle
  • Map Item

News Article

News articles are essentially press releases.  They can be organized into categories and accessed by RSS feed readers.

Map Item

Map Items let you create Google Maps that can be marked with important geographic locations.
