How different from regular appointments?
(1) You have to share your consultants with others. Drop-in consultants help more than one writer at a time.
(2) Because of that sharing, you need to be ready with specific issues and questions before working with your consultant.
(3) Use one of our self-check sheets to help identify those specific issues and questions. The consultant will show you where to find these handouts. (Necessary before consulting with UWC staff member.)
(A) If you are at the brainstroming stage, reach for the Brainstorming Strategies handout.
(B) If you've got a draft, work your way through our Do-It-Yourself Tutoring Tips.
(C) If you Need Help Citing Sources, follow the direction on that handout.
(D) Other questions? Ask the consultant to direct you to an appropriate resource from our shelves.
(4) Now you're ready to consult with a UWC staff member!
Please wait until a consultant becomes available. You will be seen in the order in which you signed in.
Summary:
During Drop-In times, you share your consultant and work more independently than during regular appointments. And no reports are sent to teachers.
