Bath is 90 minutes by train west of London, and two hours by bus, with frequent and convenient scheduling. It is close to the important port city of Bristol at the mouth of the river Avon. Bath is also a convenient distance from seaside recreation on the English Channel and is less than one hour from Wales. Stonehenge and Avebury are an easy 40 minutes away. Close by are the Cotswolds and Glastonbury. Legend has it that Glastonbury is the site where Joseph of Arimathaea, during the first century, established the first Christian church in Britain. There he brought the silver cup from which Jesus is said to have drunk at the last supper. Centuries later, the knights of King Arthur's Round Table embarked on many quests in search of the Holy Grail. Numerous spectacular cathedrals, manor houses and castles are also nearby and many will be visited as part of our special excursion program.
