Karlstad University
Apart from training teachers, a tradition which dates back 150 years,
Karlstad University offers programs and courses in the humanities, social
and economic sciences, natural sciences, music, and engineering and
technology. Its programs also include professional education and training
for the paramedical professions.
Unlike many traditional universities, Karlstad is characterized by
integration and multidisciplinary study. This has led to the development
of several unique study programs including chemical and administrative
sciences; business administration, economics and mathematics; tourism
geography; chemistry/biology with environmental studies; and communication
studies and law. Research and development have grown rapidly in recent
years with a consequent increase in funding. Major research areas include
forest environment and material, Services ICT and communication, learning
at school and work, regional identity and welfare, and gender science.

Luleå University of Technology
Founded in 1971, Lulea University of Technology (LTU) is one of 12
higher education institutions in Sweden with a fully developed research
organization. Students benefit from excellent laboratory facilities. Of
particular interest are the high power laser laboratory, electron
microscopes, HIP and RBSN equipment, acoustic and robotics laboratories,
deep-drilling equipment and heavy-load laboratories, and a mineral surface
reaction laboratory.
The main campus features a new library, student computer centers in all
university buildings, a sports hall, and a language laboratory. The School
of Music is housed in a new building equipped with three organ
auditoriums, concert hall and state-of-the-art sound engineering labs.

including about 250 exchange students.

Mälardalen University
Founded in 1977, Malardalen University is among the younger
universities in Sweden. The university has two main campuses: Vasteras and
Eskilstuna. Total enrollment: 15,000 (including about 500 international
students).
Students at Mälardalen University have everything they need to be able to
enjoy their studies. Laboratories and computer facilities are plentiful.
All university buildings have been adapted to enable handicap access and
handicap aids are available. The Student Union arranges numerous social
events, and also plays an active role in setting up contacts with
companies, international exchanges, cultural and athletic activities, and
in providing access to information technology.

Örebro University
Orebro University came into existence as a result of the 1977 higher
education reform in Sweden. In 1999, Orebro University was granted full
university status. The university takes an active part in the development
of the region and is a national and international center for knowledge.
Furthermore, the external relation's office at Orebro University has
strengthened contacts with industry and the community.
Facilities include a bookshop, three restaurants and cafeterias, and
excellent sport facilities with a new workout center. The library is a
European Documentation Centre (EDC), which makes it an excellent source
for information and research about the European Union. The Student Union
is the natural meeting place for all students and is also the home of the
student magazine. The students have their own radio station, broadcasting
daily. Campus activities include concerts, sports events and public
lectures. Total enrollment is 11,500 students.

Södertörns högskola (Southern
Stockholm)
Founded in August 1996, Sodertorns hogskola is one Sweden's youngest
university colleges. The university has grown rapidly; today there are
10,000 students enrolled. Sodertorns hogskola offers approximately 31
Study Programs, all of which maintain a strong link between academic
teaching and research, as well as collaboration among different academic
disciplines.
The many interdisciplinary programs make the university unique in Sweden.
Many of the courses and educational programs are concerned with issues of
ethnicity, migration, and nationalism in modern Europe. The aim is to
prepare students for a future that will require flexible, imaginative
people with university-level educations. Sodertorns hogskola has two
campuses: the main campus is located in Flemingsberg; the other campus is
Campus Haninge.

Universidad del Salvador is one of Argentina's most highly regarded
institutions. Facilities include classroom and administration buildings,
computer labs, bookstores and libraries. The university also has a campus
at Pilar (40 km from central Buenos Aires) where students may take some
