Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio

Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio is a young, dynamic private university. The university gained its charter from Parliament with the goal of educating students for the future competitive world market. The university is designed to teach 10,000 students, with the possibility of having 1,000 students living on-campus.

Universidad Complutense de Madrid

The Universidad Complutense de Madrid, founded in 1293, has a great historical past and has already celebrated its seventh centenary. Complutense is a public institution; campus buildings include institutes, private centers, hospitals, offices, sports facilities and computer centers. Sports facilities include 61 clubs, among them football, handball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, judo, and gymnastics. There are two campuses: Moncloa and Somosaguas. Total enrollment: 135,000 (5,000 foreign, regular and visiting students).

Universidad de Almería

The Universidad de Almería is a public university that was established in 1993 and has about 14,000 stduents. The modern campus is located on the coast just six kilometers from the city center.

Universidad de las Islas Baleares

Founded in 1978 as a public higher education instituion, in recent years the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) has become an important cultural and scientific reference for Spanish society. With the main campus in Palma and the satellite campuses located throughout the Balearic islands, there are over 13,000 students. UIB combines traditional classroom methodology with e-learning. Many international students atten UIB each year on a variety of different exchange agreements.

Universidad de Málaga

Being of fairly recent creation (1973), the University of Malaga was born with a spirit of progress. In the last decade, the university has expanded more than any other young university in Spain, being presently ranked among the main higher education institutions in the country. Total enrollment: 42,000.

The university's facilities are located on two campuses: El Ejido Campus and Teatinos Campus. There is public transportation from both campuses to the city center. The El Ejido Campus includes university administration, the International Relations Department, the Faculties of Economics and Business Management, the School of Engineering and the Polytechnic; the remainder of the university's faculties and schools together with the Centralized Research Services, sports facilities, computer center, residence hall, and general library are located on the Teatinos Campus.

Universidad de Murcia

The University of Murcia, founded in the 13th century, has about 30,000 students. The university is devoted to providing higher education to the public. Murcia has three campuses: La Merced (in the center of Murcia), Espinardo (five km north of the city), and Medicine and Health (five km south of the city). Public transportation from the city to the campuses is available.

The University of Murcia offers modern facilities and boasts the Experimental Science Support Service, two extensive libraries including a European Documentation Center, as well as many specialized institutes dealing with different aspects of the scientific and humanistic world. The university also has a great number of sport facilities including sports halls, football and rugby fields, aerobic and weight rooms, tennis and squash courts, a climbing wall and an indoor pool. Students also have access to computer labs in many buildings and a wide variety of cultural and extra-curricular activities.

Universidad de Santiago de Compostela

The University of Santiago is an historic European university, established in the 16th century and closely tied to the city of Santiago. At present there are two campuses: one in Santiago and the other in Lugo, the 2,000 year-old Roman city of Lucus Augusta. The university has a full complement of research support services, a language institute, residence halls that serve 1,400 students, and comprehensive sports and cultural facilities. Total enrollment: 35,000.

Universidad Pública de Navarra

Built in the 1980s and 1990s, Universidad Publica de Navarra's centralized layout and harmonious design make it unique among Spanish universities. The university prides itself on its commitment to providing quality in higher education. Excellent resources complement classroom learning in this young and dynamic university. The university offers easy access to a multimedia language center, library, sports facilities and cultural activities. An indoor pool and climbing wall are among some of the more noteworthy recent additions to the institution.

Universidade de Vigo

The University of Vigo offers a great variety of degrees and diplomas to a rapidly increasing number of students; more than 25,000 in 2004. The emphasis is primarily on science, technology, social science and law, but there are also faculties of Languages and Translation & Interpreting.

Universidade de Vigo is a growing institution comprised of four campuses: (1) Vigo-Torrecedeira, (2) Vigo-As-Lagoas (location of rectorate, international office, student advisory services, sports areas, main library, university bookshop, computing, research & development facilities), (3) Pontevedra (25 km from Vigo), and (4) Ourense (100 km from Vigo). ISEP placements are restricted to the two Vigo campuses; placement at the Pontevedra and Ourense campuses is not possible.

Fall or Spring program at the University of Cantabria in the northern coastal city of Santander, Spain. Earn credits in Contemporary Spanish Literature, Geography of Spain, History of Spain, Intensive Spanish Grammar, and Spanish Art.

Language requirements: 4 semesters of college Spanish.
