The UNC Asheville Greek Life system is one that promotes personal, social, intellectual and ethical development of all chapter members. Each chapter is recognized and hosted by UNC Asheville with the responsibility of the national chapters resting with that organization's headquarters.
The advancement of the Greek System at UNC Asheville is seen as an ongoing effort on the preservation of traditional intellectual growth and progressive leadership development.

Alpha Xi Delta
This women's fraternity is the oldest Greek organization on the UNC Asheville campus. Founded April 17, 1893 at Lombard College. It is devoted to the ideas of personal development, high scholarship, philanthropy, and sisterhood among women. Alpha Xi Delta's members are dedicated to life-long learning, friendship and campus involvement.
Gamma Phi Beta
An international sorority, founded at Syracuse University on Nov. 11, 1874, Gamma Phi Beta encourages members to strive for academic excellence while engaging in many campus activities. Gamma Phi Beta endeavors to foster a nurturing environment that provides women the opportunity to achieve their potential through life-long commitment to intellectual growth, individual strength and service to humanity.
Sigma Nu
Founded at the Virginia Military Institute as an anti-hazing fraternity, Sigma Nu is a fraternity of men working cooperatively toward common goals and striving to live a life of love, truth and honor. The fraternity strives to develop effective leaders and responsible citizens, to interact socially with one another and the campus community, and to promote campus life. Members work together to accomplish academic goals, and alumni continue to learn, keeping the values of Sigma Nu as guidelines for a successful future.
